What happens if my phone is lost or stolen?

Don't worry, we can help. First follow all of the steps recommended by your service provider for a lost or stolen device.

  • If you're using the "Remember My ID" setting on your NSBmobile app, please visit www.napoleonstatebank.com, log in to Online Banking, and change your Personal ID.
  • If you're not using “Remember My ID” there is no need to change your ID.

We recommend locking your device with a password. If your device is stolen, the thief would not be able to access your phone without knowing that password.

Explore options for remote locate/remote wipe software for your device through your app store to aide in reducing risk.

How do I know I’m downloading the real app?
It’s important to download mobile apps from reputable sources only. Make sure The Napoleon State Bank is listed as the app publisher or seller in the app store or download site. If you have suspicions about the authenticity of a mobile banking app, contact us at 812.852.4002.

Touch ID Login

What devices are compatible for Touch ID Login?
  • iPhone 5S, or later with iOS 8 or greater.
  • iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, and iPad mini 3 or later.
  • User must have Touch ID set up on their device (otherwise fingerprint will not be visible.)
  • This feature is not currently available for Android devices.
How do I set up Touch ID Login?
  • Make sure you have the most updated version on the NSBmobile app (3.0 or greater)
  • Make sure you have your fingerprint saved on your device. (If not, on your iPhone go to Settings> Touch ID & Passcode> enter your phone passcode>add a Fingerprint)
  • Login to internet banking via the NSBmobile app.
  • Once inside the app go to Settings>Touch ID Credentials>enter User ID & Password> Save.
Controlling access to your device via fingerprint or device passcode is the responsibility of the user.
Is Touch ID Login more secure than using my User ID and Password to login?
Touch ID Login has the same high level security as all authentication methods for Online and Mobile Banking. However, it is important that only your fingerprints are stored on the device and that your device passcode is not shared with others. Touch ID is a convenience feature for the user. For optimal security and less risk, do not use the Touch ID feature, especially if others know your phone passcode.
Can more than one person’s fingerprint be registered to the device?
The Napoleon State Bank does not collect your fingerprint details nor your device passcode. Your fingerprint is stored on your device when you set up your fingerprint enabled device. Just like it is your responsibility to keep secure your Online Banking Password, the Touch ID simplified sign in option and device passcode should be treated with the same level of security. This means that you must not register for Touch ID simplified sign in if you would like to have other people’s fingerprint stored on your device or if you want to share your device passcode with others.
How do I remove existing fingerprints on the device?
For iPhone, go to Settings>Touch ID & Passcode
What if the app is not accepting my fingerprint after registering? What do I do?
If the fingerprint does not work, you can revert to using your username and password. We recommend deleting the fingerprint on the device and setting it up again if you wish to use the fingerprint sign in feature.
Where is my fingerprint stored?
The Napoleon State Bank does not hold or store your fingerprint. Your fingerprint is stored on your device (as a part of the user settings) when you use your fingerprint to login to NSBmobile app we rely on your device to authenticate your fingerprint.
Can I use any finger?
Yes. Every fingerprint is unique. You can store as many of your fingerprints as the device allows.
Is the same fingerprint/passcode that unlocks the device able to access the NSBmobile app?
Yes. Once Touch ID Login is activated, any fingerprint which is stored on the device or device passcode can then be used to login to NSBmobile. Touch ID is a convenience feature for the user. For optimal security and less risk, do not use the Touch ID feature, especially if others know your phone passcode.
Does my phone need to be passcode protected to use Touch ID Login?
Yes. As per the operating system requirements, you will be required to password protect your device before you can set up Touch ID Login.
If I have fingerprint capability on my device, do I have to use Touch ID Login to access the NSBmobile app?
No. You can continue to choose your preferred sign in method.
What happens if I buy a new phone?
You will need to register your fingerprint on the new device, and then set up Touch ID Login within the NSBmobile app.
